As threatened, I went ahead & finished this series. The book was an easy, enjoyable read, & nothing unpleasant like the 1st 2. Lots of old characters, plus interesting new ones. The story moves forward I think ~60 years in the timeline of the characters.
1 thing I thought was odd, there was foreshadowing of a clash between our Platonists & some 24th century, capitalistic humans. But then it never develops. The plot was more focused on the supernatural issues. It makes me wonder, did Walton not want to get that political, or did they think the book was getting too long, or did they just decide not to fool with it? Or???
