The Palleseen campaign to bring atheistic perfection to the world - a world which actually has real gods & demons - encounters serious difficulties after the Pyrrhic victory of their last war.
Characters from earlier novels in the series are reintroduced, to good effect. The next novel is to be the last, & I think he has the characters on the board to pull off a most satisfying conclusion.
